Guardian MarketPerform™ – the first RILA to be launched by the insurer – has selected the SG Smart Climate Index, which relies on Entelligent’s E-Score, as one four index options.
Boulder, Colo., March 27, 2024 — Entelligent, a best-in-class provider of energy transition risk data and analytics, is proud to announce the launch by the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America of a new registered index-linked annuity (RILA) – based on an equity index codeveloped by Societe Generale and Entelligent.
Guardian MarketPerform™ – the first RILA to be launched by the insurer – uses the SG Smart Climate Index, which relies on Entelligent’s E-Score®, for stock selection. Guardian, the 12th-largest life insurer in the US, will sell the product via subsidiary Park Avenue Securities, a powerful distribution arm moving billions of dollars in insurance products annually.
Entelligent’s financially-relevant, integration-ready data sets are optimized for high-performance product innovation, including bespoke climate risk-protected indices and benchmarks that today support nearly $500 million in assets under management through annuity mandates and ETF sponsors.
The Guardian MarketPerform annuity is designed to offer growth potential for retirement assets while providing a level of protection during market downturns. The Entelligent-powered SG Smart Climate index is one of four index options offered with the product, which also includes the S&P 500, the MSCI EAFE and the Nasdaq-100.
For the RILA, the SG Smart Climate Index applies exclusion filters to the S&P 500 Index universe and provides exposure to a stock index that selects the better scoring half of each industry sector in the remaining universe based on the scores provided by Entelligent. The Index, developed with Societe Generale, uses Entelligent’s patented E-Score, which estimates the investor return sensitivity of companies to future climate change scenarios.
